Think we might be making a difference..............................some a year ago and May 2014.

Thanks to the District Council Copper Coast for the grant to buy this shed.
It even has tools in it now, so there's no longer the need to bring your own tools to help maintain the grounds. 

Come along on the morning of the first Tuesday of the month if you want to join in.

Floral Art Workshop

A small group of APS NYP members gathered at a Floral Art Workshop this week.  This session was held by another member of our group who is a very talented floral artist.  Here are a couple of pictures of the results from this session.

FARM SHED PROJECT

As mentioned at the meeting last night, we are now looking for donations of tools, used or new to be available  for members working on the FARM SHED garden

Information required

Can anyone assist with the identification of this tree located growing in a Renmark park. I have never seen it in flower but by the size of the seed cases it should be fairly large. All of the seed cases have the same shape so its not the result of an insect attack or such like

My recent discovery: pictured is Pycnosorus globulus in January. Having flowered in spring the plant put out shoots from the flower stalks some of which I successfully rooted. Having removed all the stalks and given it one decent watering it went through a new growth cycle, flowering and looking presentable through summer while another billy button plant left untended looks positively awful.

 

FARM SHED INFORMATION CENTRE KADINA

The Northern Yorke Peninsula Group have been planting and maintaining the area around the Information Centre for about ten years.
We have put in numerous plants so that locals and visitors can see what will grow in a limestone area.

Everyone is welcome to join us every Tuesday and Thursday mornings (weather permitting) to trim, weed, replace plants and generally tidy the area.
